Armstrong & Associates (A&A) offers Association Management and Legislative and Governmental Affairs Services. A&A is located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, providing easy access to Capitol Hill, and is the home-base of six associations. A&A was established in 1989 by Suzanne A. Bingham. In 2008, A&A was sold to Shari A. Bedker the current President of Armstrong & Associates.

A&A successfully represents four association clients in Congressional Services, providing legislative and governmental affairs support by tracking congressional legislation on specific issues. A&A provides Association Management Services for six national and international non-profit professional associations, administering day-to-day operations, providing financial management services, and implementing communications for the organizations.

A&A publishes in various newsletters and for a national publisher on legislative activities. A&A provides "Executive Director Updates" or "Capitol Hill Updates" in association newsletters, and reports on current events and issues within the associations.

A&A works closely with House and Senate Judiciary, Banking, Ways and Means, Senate Finance and other committees, committee members of Congress and staff. A&A assists staff members in providing knowledgeable expert witnesses for Congressional committee hearings, and serves as a liaison between Capitol Hill and clients. The firm works extensively with regulatory agencies such as the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Department of Justice, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Office of Thrift Supervision, the Internal Revenue Service, Treasury Department, the White House National Economic Council and other Executive Branch agencies.

Armstrong & Associates networks and develops contacts worldwide as the firm undertakes international initiatives for clients. A&A is represented at many foreign embassy events in Washington, D.C., and has formed a network within the foreign diplomatic attaché community. The firm also has established contacts on the House International Relations Committee, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and other related committees.

Shari A. Bedker serves as President of Armstrong & Associates International, Inc. Ms. Bedker worked as a contractor for A&A since 1987 and purchased the company in 2008. She is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia, she has an M.S. in Taxation from George Mason University and a B.S. in Accounting from George Mason University.

Ms. Bedker established the accounting and database systems at A&A as well as provided meeting planning and other essential services of a well run organization. She has an extensive knowledge of the special needs and operations of non-profit organizations.

Prior to working at A&A, Ms. Bedker worked for the federal government in various budget and accounting positions, including budget analyst and operating accountant where she consistently received superior ratings as well as received several awards for special achievement. She worked for the General Services Agency, The National Archives and the Office of Naval Research.

She has volunteered extensively, mainly as a treasurer for several different organizations, including, but not limited to, Knollwood Community Church, Kings Park Concert Band, All-Night Grad Party at Robinson High School. She has also been a Girl Scout Troop leader since 2001.

In addition to Ms. Bedker, A&A has 6 part-time employees who perform various administrative and legislative services. We work as a team to ensure that the goals and missions of the various Associations are met or exceeded.

We also have a team of top-notch local contractors who provide services such as webmaster, layout and printing on a fee basis for the Associations.
